Maharishi Schools, India
In India, Maharishi Schools are called Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools (MVMS). These have been established to introduce
Consciousness-based Education in mainstream of school education in India. Maharishi Vidya Mandir School chain is one of the largest school systems with 169 schools in 16 states with about 110,000 students and about 7000 teaching, administrative and support staff has proven its importance in Indian society for last 29 years.
According to local requirements, schools comply with KG through 12th grade standard. MVM is among top 10 school systems in India. Ninety-four schools are affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi and the rest with respective State School Education Boards.
Maharishi Vidya Mandir® Schools Group of India is being managed by Maharishi Shiksha Sansthan®, a national level society registered under the society registration act XXI of 1860.

Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools (MVMS)
is a leader among all non-government schools in India.
Like all other Maharishi institutions through out the world, the MVM system is established to introduce Consciousness-based Education in mainstream school education to its students. This system (CBE) has been implemented and repeatedly verified by over 700 scientific research studies conducted in 215 universities and independent research institutions of 35 countries.
These studies have been published in 7 volumes (over 5,000 pages) and have documented the remarkable benefits of Consciousness Based Education e.g. greater use of intelligence, superior brain wave functioning, improved learning ability, faster reaction time, coherent thought process, longer retention of knowledge, improved health.
Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools have a unique approach to holistic education: students not only study a standard range subjects identified by the NCERT and Central Board of Secondary Education but simultaneously develop their latent creativity, intelligence, and personal happiness.
As part of their curriculum all students practice Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques to awaken the full potential of brain functioning. This scientific approach to train and balance correlation between mind, body and consciousness has received wide appreciation from parents and they have acknowledged the substantial improvement in their wards.
In the words of Maharishi, the School’s Founder: “The roots of modern day problems are the incomplete growth of human brain because of incomplete, fragmented education. The education is incomplete when the student is not able to utilize or develop the creative brain potential, thereby allowing imbalances to creep in.
“The dissatisfaction created by the failure is nothing but an outcome of cumulative stress and strain due to gross violation of the laws of Nature. Thereby, it is essential to take the knowledge through education to pure consciousness level, where all the laws of Nature are aligned. This facilitates every student to adhere to the Laws of Nature and to realise an ideal and successful environment.”
To achieve this goal, the MVM system offers its programs to students across the country helping the them to gain conventional knowledge as the basis of professional skills as well as the ability to achieve fulfillment in personal life. Through educational excellence and personal development, students can lead a stress-free life and accomplish their desires without any difficulty.
